Autan® XL is the long-length alternative to Autan® (up to 1500 mm).
A self-supporting square section, it can be fi xed at its two ends in front of a window bay without any intermediate joins.
It is available in eleven colours and two finishes (smooth and glazed).
Autan® XL sunscreen is self-supporting but securing it and making it safe requires that an aluminum bar is passed through it.
Fixing plates at both ends join the assembly to a supporting structure, possibly ‘offseting’ a more discreet vertical structure. The structure is generally adjusted to fit in aesthetically with the joinery behind the sunscreen wall.

> Shade provided: of little importance for each individual Autan® assembly. It will be compensated for by reduced spacing, between 100 and 200 mm. > Impact resistance: this depends essentially on correctly sizing the metal tubes, which are simply covered by the Autan® and the supporting structure. Its use on a balcony without a guard rail in between is not recommended; where appropriate, it is advisable to carry out a project specifi c test, where this type of installation is investigated. > Wind resistance: distortion of the tubes under the weight of the terracotta (limited to 1/300 or 1/500 of the length, for example) is the main criteria in the choice of tubes (aluminum or steel, usually) and for the length chosen for the sunscreen bar. Their distortion due to wind (1/100 of the maximum length, for example) is generally less; however this should be confi rmed by calculation.
