Autan® is a small size, square section terracotta sunscreen (up to 280 mm).
It is available in eight colours and two finishes (smooth and sanded).
Between three and five (usually) Autan® sunscreens are threaded onto a 20 x 20 mm metal tube. Along with flexible interfaces that fit between them.
Non-rectified products (± 4 mm in length), Autan® components are usually glued or wedged onto the metal tube with a spring.

Shade provided: of little importance for each individual Autan® XL assembly. It will be compensated for by reduced spacing, between sunscreens of 100 and 200 mm. > Impact resistance: Autan® XL is not very fl exible; an impact on the sunscreen therefore subjects the product to great stress; it should therefore only be used in areas free from a signifi cant risk of impact: bays not situated on the ground fl oor or on a balcony. The metal tubes passing through the products prevent dangerous debris from falling in the event of accidental breakage. > Wind resistance: wind loading on Autan® XL subjects the terracotta to a bending stress. This material’s strength, with a maximum of more than 10 MPa, makes it suitable for use in most normal wind exposure situations in France for lengths up to 1500 mm, on condition that there are no concentrations of stress, dueto an inappropriate fi xing system.

> The bars are supported by special folded and welded metal clips, penetrating the ends of the tube and secured to the vertical structure with self-tapping screws. The use of directly fitted Maestral® profile, both for the sunscreen and the Maestral® cladding, gives an aesthetic consistency between the opaque and glazed façades.
