Phonbric® is a large-sized (up to 400 x 900 mm) double-skinned terracotta facing, filled with rock, wool and fitted to a framework.
It is available in ten colours.
Diameter of the perforations: 14 mm
The volume and weight of this “heavy wall” and hight density per square meter perforations, give it both: excellent acoustic performance whatever the type of area of application, a high thermal inertia (Th-I rules for thermal regulations) essential to ensuring comfort in the building in summer, a solid product perfectly suited to public areas or high traffic zones,
Its fixing system on a horizontal rail, easy to fit on any type of substrate.
The fact that it may be cut horizontally or vertically with a trim added to mask any cut line through perforations.

Phonbric® must be supported on aluminum rails (4/6 rail ref. BORP01), available in 3 m lengths, supported on a vertical framework made of vertical metal profiles or wood battens.
There are various accessories not supplied by TERREAL (in italics in the diagrams): metal or PVC profiles for flashings and various finishes; various screws, fixing anchors, thermal insulation, mastic, fixing brackets, wood and metal uprights.
The principles for the use of Phonbric® for fitting to concrete or masonry (rendered on the outside), in new installations or renovations, are contained in the TERREAL specification.
Fitting the wood or metal profile vertical framework to a concrete or rendered masonry substrate must comply with the rules contained in CSTB specifications nos. 3316/3422/3585 (wood framework) – and nos. 3194/3586 (metal framework).
The fixing of these profiles using brackets, spaced at 150 cm, requires them to be arranged in a staggered pattern on either side of the upright, spaced as appropriate to the situation.
A metal framework based on Z-shape profiles, fixed directly to the support wall, may also be used. Positioned horizontally from the bottom upwards with a theoretical spacing of 410 mm, the 4/6 aluminum rails are fixed to the framework, maintaining a gap of 1 to 2 cm between the ends of rails on the same row.
Phonbric® products are then fitted on the rails as work progresses (from the bottom upwards), suspended from their top directly on the rail and secured with two dots of Sikaflex® Pro 11 FC mastic between the product’s lower lug and the upper wing of the rail.
At critical points, Phonbric® may be cut vertically without difficulty (12 cm minimum) or horizontally (use the intermediate lugs for fixing), using a diamond tipped saw, preferably lubricated with water. In that case, it is suggested that a trim added to conceal the cut. It is possible to request that non-perforated products are supplied to avoid cutting through perforations along these critical points.
To finish at the top and bottom, the product is held by an offset horizontal rail at the level of the horizontal lugs.
